Lighten Up
Sunday, February 26, 2012 at 8:37 PM Anyone else watching the Oscars?
I'm catching the tail-end while writing up this post. It's been a busy weekend, but I did have a little bedroom update to share with you all. Chances are you've seen my cheesy Tour My House videos, so you've probably seen that right now my master is looking a little dark and dumpy.
Well, on Friday, my friend Jana and I made a lunch-break adventure to Ikea and I decided to pick up a duvet cover to lighten things up.
Here's what the bed used to look like:

But, with a little help from my new friend, Karit ($39.99, Ikea)...

...my bed now looks like this...

Lot's of photo's, I know. I just really like it when a simple change makes such a positive impact in a room...especially for less than $50.00!
The throw that you see at the end of the bed is actually just a scrap of fabric that I found at Savers for $8.00. It's about three-yards of fabric that I plan to use for a few projects throughout the room. I just love the cream-on-cream against the green walls.
If you don't remember, here is my inspiration board for the master bedroom...

You can see that I'm going for a very surreen look in this space. As for the status...I'm making slow progress, but this is definitely a step in the right direction.
Has anyone else made some simple changes that made a big impact in your room? What were they? I hope you all enjoy the Oscars. Who else thinks Brad Pitt looks much better without the long hair? Regardless, he's still eye-candy! Ha!

Hi there!
I was looking for some way to update my bedroom, found your photos and loved them so much that I pinned them on my board.

Lots of impact for the money spent! I love your ideas but I also like that you also would like to see Brad grow his hair longer just one..more..time....sigh... :-)
