Last Minute 4th Party?

Hey All,

As I was browsing around on Pinterest this morning, I found some ideas that I thought I would share.  I thought that these ideas would be great for any of you who decided to throw some sort of 4th of July get-together on a whim.  You know...sorta last-minute.

These ideas are simple and easy to throw together, and your friends will think that you've been planning your shin-dig for months!

First, some ideas from the Too Stinkin' Cute blog:

Making these treats is as simple as bundling some Red Vines with decorative paper strips.  I thought this was genius because it makes a big visual impact (you can't miss a plate filled with Red Vines), but requires minimal preparation!  It's a win-win!

These sugar cookies would be simple enough to make and decorate, and then it's all about placement.  If you don't have a rectangular serving dish, just line your cookie sheet with some decorative paper, and use that instead.

Next, we have an adorable table arrangement from Southern Living:

To make the party favors, the first place I would go would be Target.  Hit-up their dollar section, since they usually have seasonal items and trinkets that don't cost a fortune.

To add some festive decorations to your party, try this idea from Random Thoughts of a Supermom:

All you need are cans, spray paint, streamers, and double-sided tape.

Then, take those streamers, and string up a cute canopy, like this one from Style Me Pretty:

You could either create this look without the lights by using string, or you could pull out the Christmas lights for that extra effect.  If your party is in the evening, when it starts to get dark, my vote is for the lights!

If you've got some construction paper, try these paper stars from  I Saw That Going Differently In My Mind

Just twist them up, tape or glue them together, and then add the star in the center as a finishing touch.

If you're serving brunch, consider these red-velvet pancakes from I am Mommy:

or, this easy idea for serving toast from Be Different, Act Normal:

Alright, now go, go, go!  You've got today to prepare, and tomorrow to throw the best 4th of July party ever!

Do you guys have big plans for the 4th?  It's going to be pretty low-key around here.  I'm just happy to have one more day off of work for crafting!

Happy 4th of July everyone!

I will be crafting as well! I just wish it was a little cooler so we could throw fun BBQ's in the backyard!

I agree! Call me crazy, but I've been spray-painting in the garage this weekend...I think that someone forgot to tell me that it was 118 degrees out.
