Celebrating Month One!!
Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:22 PM You know that saying, "time flies when you're having fun?" Well, I'd like to rephrase that to, "time flies when you're having fun blogging!"
Even though I had been taking time to build up content for a few months (my first blog post was Dec. 7th), I consider April 10th to be the official Birthday of this blog. Why, you might ask? Well, April 10th was the day that I finally felt the blog had enough content to be worthy of your readership, and so it was the day I released the site to my family and friends.
It's been quite the month, and though I continue to build many features on the site "one step at a time" I have enjoyed the experiences, comments, and ideas that have been contributed by each of you thus far. Whether it be a comment added to a post, or a conversation held in person, many of you have inspired me with new ideas, and have encouraged me to keep going. Thank you!
Since most celebrations are accompanied by some sort of party, I'd like to introduce each of you to the concept that exists within the blog-o-sphere called a "link party."
This will be my first link party, so I'm still figuring out all of the details...but from what I've gathered so far, a link party is a collection of links to commonly themed things. Here's how it will play out...I will add links, and you can add links too by leaving a comment! This way, this entire post can fill up with links & we can share ideas.
Link Party!! Let's Celebrate!!
The theme for this link party is going to be inspiration.
Here are some of the posts around the blog-o-sphere that I've found lately that have inspired me:
This post, "All that Paper (And How I Organize It)" by the Censational Girl blog, showed a lot of great ideas for organizing all of that paper that floods our homes. I'm loving a lot of her tips, so check it out!
This project, posted by the House of Smiths blog, showed how to use wood panels with a white-wash to create a fresh new space. I loved that it was something different, but also so simple!
This post from one of my favorite blogs, Young House Love, is talking mostly about adding accessories to their new, custom-built console table; however, follow the links they provide. It's a pretty impressive story. They built this console table themselves, and there are some really amazing storage features built in!
PS...I also really loved this post from YHL about their gallery art arrangement in their hallway. Pretty impressive!
This article from Better Homes and Gardens gave me some ideas for using up some of the extra scrapbook paper I've been storing, or possibly even a stencil project.
This post on HGTV's Blog showed me that I'm not alone in my love for the color gray! It was voted one of the most popular colors (not surprising)!
Probably the most exciting link I came across this month though, was this one, provided by Anna from the HGTV blog. This link will take you to that dreamful place where HGTV houses all of their full-length episodes! Browse the library of shows to gain inspiration, and learn new tips. You know that I will be!
So what about you? Have you found any projects that have inspired you lately on a similar site? Do you have your own blog filled with fun ideas? Join the party and link em' up!!
PS...If you're a fan of this blog, be sure to "like" the Facebook page, and follow my tweets. I post a lot of updates there to keep everyone connected.
