For A Good Cause
Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 7:38 PM While roaming around the blog-o-sphere today I found something that I thought was deserving of a shout-out. DIY Diva, a blog featuring a woman and her husband (couldn't find their names, so for now they will just be known as woman and man) who are living in their garage as they build their house. As a project inspired by her readers and her employer, she has launched the Secrets for Habitat campaign.
To start the project readers were asked to submit some of their "home secrets." These secrets were then used to inspire a series of photographs/prints that are available for sale at smugmug. $4.50 of each sale will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, an organization that rebuilds struggling communities. On top of that, her employer is offering to match the donations, up to $1000.00.
I just had to spread the word about this! Habitat for Humanity does so much work to ensure people have a place to call home...and I'm sure that makes a lot of people extremely happy!
Check out some of the prints from the "Home Secrets" series:

Pretty good, if you ask me. Which of these images do you relate the most to? I personally relate to the "I start new projects before finishing old ones," theme. You might remember that it was one of my New Years resolutions to change that about myself.
Are there any other secrets that you would add to these? What about causes that you like to support? To see more images within this series, or to find out more about this project, please check out this post from DIY Diva's blog.
