Tour My House: Guest Bedroom

Well, it's not really much right now, but I sure do have some big plans for this room.  It's difficult for me to show images of how bland the decorating is around my house right now, but I also thought it would be nice to truly show each of you how these spaces in my home evolve.

You've got to start somewhere, right?  Well, here is where it all started in our guest bedroom.

I mentioned a few things that were on the agenda for this room in the video, but here is the checklist I will be working from:

1. Replace dresser
2. Replace night stand
3. Replace double bed with queen bed/frame and headboard
4. Replace & enhance bedding
5. Add decorative pillows
6. Add window treatments
7. Paint walls
8. Add art displays
9. Add rug
10. Add accessories
11. Replace trim & moulding
12. Replace builder basic door
13. Replace gold door knob
14. Create storage solution for internet cords
15. Create storage solution for closet
16. Replace carpet with laminate flooring

When all is said and done, the plan is to have a room with dark-gray walls, white furniture and fabrics, and old-fashioned black-and-white photography art displays.  This entire room scheme was inspired by the art project that I started (but haven't finished yet) that I posted about here.  I enjoy using old-fashioned images in a modern arrangment to create a contemporary feel.

When everything is done, the room will have received an entire makeover.  As embarrassing as it is to show the room in it's current state, I hope you can see where I'm going with it.  When I first started blogging, I promised to share both the good and the bad adventures that come with turning a house into a home.  Consider the current state of the guest bedroom to be a bad adventure!  But, be sure to check in on my progress as I transform it into something fantastic!
