I've had this awesome post sitting in my inbox for over a week now, and holy-cow have I been anxious to share it with you!
A few months ago, Katie from Inmod.com stumbled across my site, and boy am I glad she did. After exchanging a few emails I knew having her as a guest blogger for the site was a must! Trust me, you'll see why...
Take it away, Katie!
My name is Katie and I'm from Inmod.com, an online retailer of modern furniture, lighting and decor. Kelli was so kind as to let me stop by for a guest post on Thanksgiving. Are you all ready for the holiday? If not, we've got some fun ideas for creating a fun, modern tabletop!
But first, let me introduce you to some of the products we offer over at Inmod that would be perfect for entertaining at Thanksgiving, and all year round. For example, we have an enormous selection of modern dining tables, including extendable tables for when you have more guests than usual. Inmod also carries modern dining chairs of all shapes, sizes, colors and fabrics to match your favorite table. I've chosen a handful of each from our collection and posted them above to give you a taste of what Inmod is all about. Once you've got your dining table and chairs all set up - it's time to decorate!!!
Since Inmod is a retailer of all things modern, I thought I’d go for Thanksgiving tables that have a modern vibe. Let’s get started!
The top center image has bright contemporary colors and patterns that are used as a common theme throughout the table as charms on the wine glasses and as napkin holders. (You can find the free print-outs here.)
Moving down clockwise, the next table has painted various sizes of pumpkins in a bright gold to use as a centerpiece and as place settings. Painting pumpkins can be quick and easy - especially if you use spray paint - and adds a hint of glamorous detail to any table.
The next table incorporates some neon into its decor, with vibrant green napkins. Neon is not something you would typically expect from a Thanksgiving table and I love that! Each place setting is adorned with a persimmon, which also adds some brightness to the table.
In the fourth image, we again have some neon napkins, just not as bright as the green! What I like about this table decor is the thick, bold ribbon that is incorporated as a runner. You can mix and match different colors, widths and textures to easily create a ribbon runner of your own. I also like how a few random ribbons are tied with several knots and scattered along the runner. Plus, you may already have some ribbon lying around! [Table sources: 1 / 2 / 3 /4]
So, those are my inspirations for a modern Thanksgiving table! Thanks for having me, Kelli! How will you be decorating yours this year?
I don't know about you, but I'm always excited to see bright colors used whenever possible! These are great ideas, and a big thank you goes out to Katie for pulling them all together!
In answer to the question, I've posted my inspiration board for my Thanksgiving table here. I'm planning on making a run to a few retailers over the next few days to pull it all together. What do you all have in mind for the big event? Only one week away from turkey day!
